Overall I can just say that I loved the country. It's absolutely not comparable to Germany and the beginning it can be challenging to handle the differences but it has its own individual beauty.

What did you think of the project and the partner organization in Uganda?
I loved working at Nnina Olugero. The staff members are really nice people and the work they
do is good. I have been able to take a look into all the projects the organisation has and could
decide of which ones I wanted to be part of afterwards. I got included into the Condomwise
and the Get up Stand up project and did a lot of amazing workshops with them. They have
always been opened and supportive regarding my ideas and the things I wanted to include
into the workshops.  Also the people are different of course. Some things that are normal in Uganda I adopted,
some I got used to and some I will never understand. But I got to know some amazing people
who I already really miss.

Ervaringsverslag:
mij vrij snel thuis in Uganda.

Evaluation Volunteer programme Let’s Go Uganda!
Name: Natasa Rapajic (from Croatia)
Working period: 6 weeks in 2018
Local partner organization: Nnina Olugero

Please rate all 3 below with scale 1-10:
Overall rate of your Let’s Go Uganda volunteer work: 8
Score of preparation, organization and guidance by LGA: 10
Score of introduction, supervision and guidance of local partner: 9

How did you like it to work in this type of development country?
Very interesting, exciting and rewarding, even though bit frustating at times as things can’t
always go the way planned due to circumstances, such as money, time, cultural differences.
Was it what you expected beforehand? And what was totally different?
I expected to have completely new experience and that is what I got. People were much nicer
than I was expecting. And I had much less problems adjusting to simple ways of living than I
thought I would. Cold shower and no drinking water but bottled was very easy to adjust to,
much easier then I imagined.

What did you think of the project and the partner organization in Uganda?
I thought projects were very good and relevant. Nnina Olugero staff is amazing, lovely people
with big hearts who believe in what they do and genuinely have everybody’s best interest in
mind. Time management was sometimes a small problem, but understandable within African
culture.

What did you think of the guidance from your contact person of Let’s Go Africa?
Very good. I felt prepared before leaving. Roel showed interest during my stay in Uganda,
made sure we have contact and that he is reachable.
