Volunteer at Nnina Olugero through the professional guidance of Let's Go Africa
Nnina Olugero’s Dutch founder got to know Uganda through volunteering at an Ugandan vocational skill organisation for HIV positive women. Though she liked the staff very much it was difficult for her to find her purpose in the organisation since the home visits and counselling sessions where in Luganda and she didn’t know anything about hairdressing or tailoring. She didn’t feel completely used to her potential within their program as the description she read online didn’t meet the expectations.
With this experience in mind she created a program, together with the Ugandan International Volunteers Coordinator (Micheal Lubega), in which volunteers can work according to their interest and skills.
With our volunteer and intern program we are working together with the Let’s Go Africa Community Development Internship & Volunteer Agency. Their aim is to link young professionals from around the world to local projects and organisations in countries in Africa. Their vision is to foster international exchange, to enhance development, and to make an impact on all parties involved. They're experienced and specialized in long term development that is empowered by the people in the communities. At the same time they aim to achieve personal development for interns/volunteers through personal guidance, contact with the people in the communities, and the total experience as a whole.

There are many options to work as a volunteer at Nnina Olugero. For instance in a managing function, PR, English teacher, ICT, social work, health care, agriculture etc.
Because we have a lot of partner organisations it’s also possible to combine working for Nnina Olugero and at an orphanage or hospital for instance. This way we aim to create a challenging and useful experience for both the volunteer as for the organisation.
